Carrie Coppernoll Jacobs is a mother and writer who has lived in District 3 of Oklahoma City Public Schools for the past 11 years.

She ran for the Board of Education because she wants to see Oklahoma City Public Schools keep pace with the exciting progress happening in Oklahoma City. The city is at a crossroads with public education, and residents are ready to ensure our schools are as great as our flourishing community. Carrie worked as a reporter and columnist in Oklahoma City for nine years, spending the last part of her tenure at The Oklahoman as the education beat reporter. She covered Oklahoma City Public Schools, the state Education Department and education trends. She earned her alternative certification to teach high school journalism and English, and worked for two years as the journalism teacher at Putnam City North High School. She now works as a writer for BigWing Interactive, a digital marketing company in Oklahoma City.

Carrie and her husband, Leigh, have two daughters: Mia, 6, and Wren, 1. Mia is in first grade at John Rex Charter Elementary School.
